Before You Visit

  • High Lodge Farm is working Oxfordshire farm run by four sisters. It opens to the public approximately five times a year for short-term seasonal events, including an Easter Trail, Big Bale Play, Pumpkin Patch and Spooky Trail, and Bale Play in the Barn. All the events are farm-themed and are aimed at children aged between 1 - 14. We also run a pop-up campsite during the summer holidays.

  • High Lodge Farm holds seasonal family events during selected school holidays only. These are February half-term, Easter Holidays, May half-term and October half-term. We also run a summer campsite in July and August. Outside of these periods we are closed to the public and we’re a working farm.

Please note, we are not permanently open.

  • Our summer campsite is open from early July until late September. Our next main event is Halloween, during selected dates in October. View our What’s On page for the latest information.

  • Yes please. We do accept walk-ins on the day, but this is subject to availability. Gate tickets are more expensive than those booked online in advance.

  • We have a flexible booking policy which allows you to move your tickets to a different day or time yourself if you create an account when booking. If you haven’t created an account, email hello@highlodgefarm.com and we will amend bookings, subject to availability. Please note, tickets cannot be transferred to different events.

  • Tickets for all our events are non-refundable unless we have to cancel the event. Please note, our events are all outdoor and we generally open even if it’s raining. You are able to move your tickets to another day or time, as many times as you like, if you create an account when booking.

  • Visit our booking website to book tickets for our seasonal events. Each online booking will incur a £1.50 booking fee.

  • Don't worry if you're a bit early or late for your slot, the sessions are to manage the flow of people on site and cars in the car park.

  • Yes, we run SEND sessions for most of our events. Please see individual event pages for more information. These are usually at the start of the day, around 9am.

  • The barrel train is not included in your ticket price. It’s £3 per person. Anyone over the age of three can ride (including adults). Pay the driver by cash or card on the day. The trip around the farm is about 6 minutes long.

Getting Here

  • Most of our events are held in a field on the edge of the A415 Abingdon Road, Culham, Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Nearest post code is OX14 3BN. Please drive through the metal gates and park in the grassy field. We’re 0.4 miles from the Europa School. What3Words: tribal.dizzy.tribes

Please note, if you’re coming to our campsite or Bale Play in the Barn, please follow the directions in your welcome email because you need to access the farm from a different direction. Do not go to our usual events site.

  • Our car park is a flat grassy field accessed off the A415 Abingdon Road. Drive through the metal gates. It can get muddy when it’s wet, so please drive carefully.

  • Yes, our car park is free.

Facilities

  • Yes, we have a basic mobile toilet block and/or Portaloos and one accessible toilet.

We also have a separate hand-washing station.

Please note, the facilities are very basic because events are held in a grass field.

  • There is a baby-changing table in the accessible Portaloo.

  • We have two open-sided stretch tents at our seasonal events, with picnic benches. There are also various log seating areas around the site.

  • The Toot sells proper coffee, tea, hot chocolate, brownies and flapjacks, ice creams and other soft drinks.

The Tasty Toot sells hot dogs, burgers, breakfast rolls and kids meal deals, plus a range of toasted sandwiches.

The Sweet Toot sells ice creams and other goodies.

Please note, catering options vary slightly according to each event.

  • Sometimes. It depends on how much rain we’ve had. Most of the time an all-terrain buggy (not a stroller) will be able to navigate the field and woodland. We recommend a baby/toddler carrier when it’s wet.

There are no solid paths, so wheelchairs will struggle in and around the woodland. We have accessible parking near the entrance. Please speak to our staff if you require assistance.

What To Bring

  • If there’s been a lot of rain, we recommend wellies because it’s likely to be very muddy, otherwise trainers should be fine. We are not liable for any injuries. We recommend trainers for bale climbing. We do not recommend sandals or open-toed shoes at any of our events.

  • Yes, we take both everywhere on site.

  • Yes, feel free to bring a picnic.

  • No. Only assistance dogs are allowed on site during our seasonal events. Dogs are allowed at our campsite only.
